When we were living in London I spent plenty of hours in our little kitchen cooking. That’s where my interest and love for cooking really started to grow. I wouldn’t say I am a pro or necessarily a great cook but I am learning. In my quest to come up with good healthy recipes, I searched out many websites, blogs and books. Often times I take a recipe and adapt it by adding healthier ingredients, additional vegetables or my own twist.
I am starting to blog some of our favorite recipes, some new, some old, ones I enjoy cooking and the ones most requested by my husband. Yes, he makes it known when he really enjoys a meal and is a great critic! I try to make most everything from scratch and buy the freshest ingredients. After reading the China Study (more on that later), I am trying to limit meat and diary (animal based protein). Dairy is not too difficult since my husband has a lactose intolerance. My focus is on healthy well balanced meals. Of course Josh and I both have a sweet tooth, so I bake too. I am continuously experimenting with new recipes and remaking our favorites.
