This weekend Josh and I are watching the girls so Mum and Dad can get away one last time before we move back to the US. It is an extremely sad thought for both of us… How we love to spend time with these precious little girls, and I know it is always nice for parents to get away and have alone time knowing their girls are in good hands.
Today was a beautiful day in London so we ventured out to the park. We took a picnic lunch and played. A woman came up to us and wondered how we were so calm and together with three little ones?! She was amazed! Josh informed her we were just practicing/nannying. She felt better. She couldn’t figure out how I looked so good after having three children. I guess I’ll take that as a compliment?!
We didn't just play at the park, Mr. Josh read a story! Mr. Josh is going to make a great Dad, don't you think?!
After nap/rest time everyone cuddled up on the blue chair with Mr. Josh to watch Micky Mouse. You wouldn’t know it, but a couple of weeks ago number 3 was not so sure about Mr. Josh!

Number 3′s bedtime routine is bottle, book, song and prayers. After I finished she turned around in the rocking chair and put her head on my chest… it was the sweetest thing. She hasn’t cuddled up with me in a long time. It’s like she knew we weren’t going to get to cuddle again for awhile. I savored every second and would have rocked until she fell asleep. After singing some songs I whispered, ” I love you.” She looked at me and smiled…. she makes my heart so happy. They all do…
Josh and I had dinner after we got them all in bed. When we finished I told Josh I had to go check on the big girls. I walked in on number two and we had this conversation (I had to crawl in bed and cuddle with her too!)…
Number 2- I haven’t found my sleep yet, that’s why I’m laying here… (pause)… Ms. Sara do you know what?
Me: What?
Number 2: I suck my fingers to help me fall asleep. And I have my guys (her guys= her blanket and bunny)
Me: Yes you do… I used to suck my thumb when I was your age. It helped me fall asleep too!
Number 2: You dont suck your thumb anymore because you are an adult and you don’t have guys, you can just fall sleep… (pause)… Well I guess Mr. Josh is your guys (big smile)
I smile, laugh and delight in her sweet thoughts. She continues..
Number 2: and daddy is mummy’s guys
Bless her heart. She has it all figured out. Sweetest thing ever. I might have choked up thinking about leaving her. I love you little number two!! I will miss you more than you will ever know. All three of these little girls have taught me so very much. They are a blessing and I love each one to pieces. Sigh… I don’t want to leave.
When I arrived on Friday, number 2 is wearing this outfit. She dressed herself. I just love it!
